Original character created by Garry Glissmeyer (1984)

In 1983, Hallmark Cards charged Garry Glissmeyer, VP-Creative/Licensing, with getting Hallmark into the licensing business, in particular to create Saturday Morning TV programs with characters aimed at young girls. Glissmeyer’s concept of developing a very young girl with powers over nature was then developed by a team of artists and writers from Hallmark’s Creative Division.

The first episode of Rainbow Brite aired on June 27th, 1984, making this Hooptie a celebration of the shows 30th anniversary.
