The Coexist Campaign was created to address the crisis of understanding that tears at the social fabric of societies around the world. Globalization has outpaced our understanding of one another, creating divisions that plague communities with prejudice, hate and violence. While these are complicated problems, there are tangible, long lasting solutions. A combination of knowledge, relationships and shared action decreases conflict and strengthens the bonds that hold societies together. The social cohesion created by these three components produces understanding across divides. (souce: Coexist)

I first came across the Coexist project on campus during my undergraduate at the University of Arizona, the non-profits values and dedication to communication though understanding has been admirable. Shifting the context with bike parts reminds me of all the good that can come from happy dialogue between drivers and cyclists. Too many times I hear hate filled complaints from drivers who encounter cyclists on the streets, when patience and communication can bridge these divides.
